PRESIDENT GOODLUCK APPOINTS NEW DG OF NIA

President GoodLuck Jonathan on Thursday approved the appointment of Ayo Oke as the new Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).

This was announced in Abuja by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati who stated that Oke would take over from the outgoing Director-General of the agency, Ezekiel Oladeji, whose tenure just elapse.

Oke, a career diplomat, who was formerly at the Commonwealth secretariat in London, was until his appointment as Director-General, the director (regions) at the head quarter of NIA.

Mr. Abati disclosed that the President also approved the appointments of E.O. Okafor (Anambra State) as Deputy Director-General (operations) and Arap A. Yadam (Plateau State) as Deputy Director-General (administration) of the NIA.

He noted however that the three appointments are with immediate effect.
