DR SENGONDO MVUNGI AT THE HOSPITAL

TANZANIAN, DR MVUNGI DIES IN SOUTH AFRICA

 Dr. Sengondo Mvungi, a local prominent politician and member of the Constitution Review Commission (CRC) has met his end on Tuesday at the Milpark Hospital in South Africa.

CEOAFRICA gathered that according to the report that Dr Mvungi was admitted, following injuries he suffered as a result of a midnight attack by suspected robbers, at his home on November 2, this year and in which he was robbed of valuables including laptop, pistol, mobile phone and undisclosed amount of money.

Dr. Mvungi was first rushed to Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI), where he spent four days at MOI’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and then referred to Milpark Hospital in South Africa, due to the slow pace of his recovery.

The Chairman of the CRC, Judge (Rtd) Joseph Warioba, who was said to have confirmed that Dr Mvungi died at 3:30pm yesterday at the South African hospital, the embassy in South Africa is making arrangements for returning his body home.

However, Tanzanian Police reported to have arrested nine suspects who confessed to their involvement in the attack Dr Mvungi, adding that they have succeeded in recovering some stolen items from the bandits.
