Security guard arrested for stealing N13m

Security guard, Pius Edward (35) attached to Bishop's Court of the Anglican Church,Ibadan has been arrested for allegedly stolen N13 million. The suspect who was paraded along his wife, Afusat (25) at the Oyo State Police

Command's headquarters, Eleyele, on Tuesday, was said to have burgled into the Bishop's office and made away with the money.

 

The state Commissioner of Police Muhammed Indawaba said after pain-staking

investigation, it was revealed that the principal suspect was hiding in an hotel at Odeda Village, Abeokuta, Ogun State with the connivance of an immigration officer attached to Ogun State command."The said immigration officer being fully aware of the source of the money, assisted the suspect and his family members to procure travelling documents to Dubai," the

police boss said.

 

According to him, the suspect was arrested at Idi-Iroko, a border town in Ogun State. When the suspect was searched, he said N656, 000 and $2300 were recovered from him.

The suspect admitted to have torn a cheque of First Bank of N7 million belonging to the church for the fear of being arrested.Items recovered from him were unregistered black Honda saloon car and unregistered blue Mitsubishi Gallant saloon car which he had used part of the loot to buy.
