Former African footballer of the year, Emmanuel Amunike  has stated that he does not believe the time is right to let members of Nigeria’s victorious Golden Eaglets team play at the highest level.

Reacting to a statement made by the head coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi that he is willing to give some members of the squad a look in , Amunike, who coached the Golden Eaglets to success at the 2013 Fifa under 17 World Cup says it’s too early to try out the youngsters at senior level.

He said the move to the Super Eagles will be a step too steep for them to cope with adding that they are not ready yet.

He noted that they need to carefully groom the boys and asking them to play for the Super Eagles at this stage will be a mistake.
