Al-Mustapha visits Jos, advocate’s end to crisis rocking the state

The former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, Sani Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha has pledged to help bring an end to the crisis that has rocked Jos and other Plateau communities.

‪Mr. Al-Mustapha made the appeal last Thursday in Jos the plateau state capital during a peace parley with youth of the state.

‪He recalled that back in the 80′s, Plateau was home for all and called on the people of the state to tolerate each other noting that he is committed to ensuring that lasting peace is restored back to the state.

‪Al-Mustapha also appealed to all communities in the State irrespective of tribe or religion, to eschew bitterness and forgive themselves for peace to reign stating that his mission at all time is to ensure a peaceful Nigeria.

‪When asked why he visited the state, the former soldier, who spent 13 years in jail while on trial for murder, said his mission in the state is that of peace and nothing else.

‪He disclosed that he is going to work with the youths and the entire people of Plateau State to consolidate on the fragile peace in the state.

Mr. Al-Mustapha was recently released from jail after the Court of Appeal ruled he was not involved in the murder of late Kudirat Abiola.

‪While in Jos, Mr. Al-Mustapha visited the secretariat of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and that of Jamaatu Nasir Islam, JNI, to solicit the spiritual support of the clergy for peace to return to Plateau.

He also paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former Plateau governor, Solomon Lar.

He applauded the lifestyle of Mr. Lar, the first national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and called on Nigerians to emulate the former governor.
