LANI FOUNDATION TRAINS 36 ORPHANAGES ON CHILDREN SAFETY

Lani Foundation, a Lagos-based children development NGO, has reported to have trained 35 orphanages in Lagos and Cross River States.

According to the Nigeria 2008 Situation Analysis, there are 17.5 million orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC), including 7.3 million orphans some of whom are being cared for within homes/orphanages, with minimal support and sustenance.

Folake Matuluko, Foundation’s policy, research and funding coordinator said in a statement that the organization had built capacities of the orphanages, and provided them with first aid boxes.

Matuluko listed the orphanages to include Precious Peals, Little Saints, Baales of Mercy, SOS Children Home, Girls Mino Orphanage and Almighty God Compassion Home.

Others are St. Josephs Orphanage, St. Josephs for the Visually Impaired, Infant Jesus Orphanage Home and Virtuous Women Orphanage.
