The Minister of state for FCT Oloye Jumoke Akinjide has called on prominent men and women of Ibadanland to work together in ensuring the development of the land.

Oloye Jumoke stated this today at the 2013 Ibadan week celebration held at the Liberty stadium Ibadan.

While thanking the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) for the recognition giving to her, the minister noted that if you are recognized in your home town, then God has truly smiled on you.

She therefore called on all Ibadan indigenes to support the CCII and promised more selfless service to the land.

On his part the chairman of the occasion and president of the CCII Chief Adebayo Oyero expressed satisfaction over the unity amongst the people of Ibadanland.

He noted that in the past they have allowed partisan politics and interest to divide them but now, politicians in the state seem to be appreciating the clarion call of the CCII noting that the politicians can now interact more as Ibadan citizens irrespective of their political differences.

The chairman enjoined the politicians to carry on the good spirit to the 2015 polls adding that it should be demonstrated right from the venue of the Ibadan week celebration.

The event was graced by various top government functionaries from both within and outside the state, traditional rulers also from within and outside the state, friends and well wishers of Ibadanland as well as its citizens.
