The Kenyan Meteorological services and National space secretariat has announced plans to launch Kenya’s first high altitude balloon (HAB) into space as part of events to mark the nation’s golden jubilee celebration.

The event which is scheduled for the 12^th of December, 2013 will see the HAB soar to over 40 kms in the stratospheres taking images that the Kenyan in-studio panel of satellite engineers, meteorologists and communication experts will explain to the people.

The HAB mission is designed to evoke National prestige and foster space based education.
