ZAMBIA- Following a heavy downpour which happened at the weekend, a two-year-old boy, Elias Mulilo, has been reported to have drowned in drainage in Mpatamatu Township of Zambia.

The deceased, according to sources, fell into the drainage five metres away from parent’s house.

Reacting to the incident, Mulyashi Ward Councillor, Bernard Fungo, confirmed the incident, saying the deceased was left under the care of an eight-year-old older sister by the mother who was reported to be attending a church programme.

Mr Fungo said the body of the deceased baby was in Luanshya Mine Hospital and that burial would take place today.
