Moses, Mikel, Okagbare Won at the Annual Nigeria Sports Award Ceremony

NIGERIA- The 2013 edition of the Nigeria Sports Award was held yesterday at the Muson Centre, Onikan, with several awards carted away by sports men and women who distinguished themselves in 2013.

During the event, the following people won awards in recognition of their contribution to the development of sports in Nigeria;

Victor Moses was named the Nigerian Footballer of the Year 2013, defeating John Obi Mikel and Sunday Mba to the title.

Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi beats Golden Eaglets Coach, Manu Garba to the Coach of the Year Award while Perpetual Nkwocha won the Female Footballer Award of the Year.

Ball Sports Personality of the year award was won by Portugal based Nigeria table tennis international Aruna Quadri. He defeated Olumide Oyedeji and Ike Diogu, both of D’ Tigers National Basketball Team.

The Sport Administrator of the Year award was won by the NFF Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, while Blessing Okagbare won the Track and Field Star of the Year award.

Junior athlete, Divine Oduduru won the Discovery of the Year award and Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan won the Sports Governor of the Year Award.

Mikel Obi however won the Sports man of the year award while Blessing Okagbare won the sports woman of the year award.
