NIGERIA-   The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo state has expressed satisfaction over the recent defection of the G7 governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ACN.

The public relations officer of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in Oyo state Honorable Dauda Kolawole stated this in an exclusive chart with CEOAFRICA news in Ibadan.

Honorable Kolawole stated  that he was not surprised at the defection as the late sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo had predicted that a time will come when people of like minds from different camps would come together to work progressively for the interest of all adding that other progressive minded people in other opposition parties would still decamp to the APC.

He explained that the coming of the G7 governors to the party would serve as a big boost to the party as they are bringing in their years of experience to add to that of the already existing members of the party noting that this would enable the party move forward positively.

The PRO added that APC is on its way to becoming the greatest party in Africa and pacesetter for other countries around the world after 2015.

On the recent election in Anambra state, Honorable Kolawole called on the INEC chairman Professor Attahiru Jega to cancel the elections adding that for the people to have faith in the body, it must ensure a fair and transparent supplementary election in the state.

Meanwhile, the state secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state Honorable Lawal Ismail during a chart with CEOAFRICA news in his office in Ibadan stated that this is not the right time for the party to lose members adding that the way the crisis between the G7 governors and the party was handled was not commendable.

Honorable Lawal was however quick to note that the PDP is a strong party and will not be affected by the exit of the G7 governors from the party adding that the PDP will continue to grow stronger in strength, leaps and bound and will definitely emerge victorious in the 2015 general election.

While calling on the national leadership of the party to wake up to its call and avoid a recurrence in the future, the secretary noted that the people of Oyo state are currently yearning for the leadership of the PDP and the party is set to take back the mantle of leadership from the opposition.

As to whether INEC should be allowed to conduct the 2015 general election based on the way it handled that of Anambra state, Honorable Ismail disclosed that the electoral body should be allowed to do its job adding that INEC had been fair to all the political parties.

On his part the Oyo state coordinator of the PDP Legislators Forum Honorable Olatunde Jinaidu described the defection as an act of gross indiscipline on the part of the governors adding that it is wrong for a state governor to hand over his state to an opposition party

While stressing that there are better ways to resolve crisis Honorable kolawole stated that the crisis would have been resolved if the presidency and the national leadership of the PDP had resolved the issue before it gets to this point.

He added that the decamping of the governors will not affect the party as it will get over it in no time.

However, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has assured its supporters not to worry adding that there is no cause for alarm.
