SEVEN ARRAIGNED FOR DEFILING GIRL 13 IN IBADAN

Seven men were today, 28th November 2013, dragged before an Ibadan Magistrate Court, Iyaganku, Oyo State, Nigeria, for continuously defiling a 13-year-old girl.

The suspects; Mohammed Sanni (38), Eze Ndubuisi (26), Emmanuel Abiola (64), Kabiru Mohammed (25), Sakiru Sokoto (20), Mohammed Sefiu (21) and Mohammed Bashir (19) were arrested on the 17th November 2013, and subsequently arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and defilement.

The statement signed by the prosecuting officer, Inspector Oluyemi Eyiaromi reads that the offence is contrary to and punishable under section 516 and 218 of the criminal code cap 38 Vol II laws of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.

The girl (name withheld), whose grandmother resides at Yabunle Bashorun Ashi Area, Ibadan, revealed in an exclusive chat with CEOAFRICA that the seven men and so many others which were not arrested, on several occasions had canal knowledge of her.

She noted that the incident  had lasted for over two months, stressing that the men always commit the crime with her whenever she is sent to fetch water from a well few meters away from their building or when she is going or coming back from school.

Moreover, on the day the terrible occurrence was discovered, the school teacher of the victim as admitted by the Girl’s Grandmother, had brought the girl to her that she was vomiting & semen was seen in her private part and the girl also confessed to her grandmother that the Hausa men and the security guard were sleeping with her where she went to fetch water.

The girl confessed in her statement that the men usually give her N20 each after the illicit affair which had occurred between them on several occasion

According to a report, Eze Ndubuisi, Emmanuel Abiola, Kabiru Mohammed, Sakiru Sokoto, and Mohammed Bashir, had denied having anything to do with the 13-year-old girl while the other two, Mohammed Sefiu, Mohammed Sanni confessed as well as mentioned others that were involved in the crime.

However, Eze Ndubuisi, Emmanuel Abiola and Mohammed Sanni, denied committing the crime during an interview with CEOAFRICA news.

The presiding Judge, Chief magistrate Kehinde Durosaro Tijani therefore adjourned the case to 27th of January, 2014.
