Kenya’s 1st citizen and President who has been in office since 2013, Uhuru Kenyatta, has become the latest inspiration for the challenge trend on twitter.
According to Ceoafrica, people have been using the hashtag #UhuruChallenge to make fun of President Kenyatta's perceived penchant for launching projects and his communication team's use of flowery language to describe them.
His critics say that some of the projects he says he is launching were already underway or had been already commissioned.
President Kenyatta was in the coastal city of Mombasa last week where he launched a footbridge with the words “Commissioned the Buxton Footbridge Non-Motorized Transport Project in Mombasa”
Kenyans on Twitter took the cue and have been launching their own mundane projects to poke fun at the president.
