His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Felix Alaba Adeosin Job, the youngest bishop in the whole world as at 1971 when he was consecrated, has tasked the faithful all over the world towards the discovery of their right vocations to enable them impact reasonably in the environment they may find themself.

The Metropolitan Archbishop of the Ibadan Archdiocese who just retired from 42-years of service as an archbishop gave this directive during a media chat held on the 30th November 2013, in memory of his retirement.

In his remarks, the veteran teacher and priest noted that many are called to different vocations, and it is the same God who calls that nourishes and support one in the vocation to which he has been called.

Alaba Job, now Archbishop Emeritus who became a bishop in 1971, at the tender age of 33, stressed that he was not just called to become a priest but also called to live in priesthood and would, at retirement, remain a priest till his death.

Analyzing his experience in the mission of feeding the flock of Christ, he emphasized that priesthood is not bed of roses, noting that there are up and down embedded in it but that God had been fortifying and sustaining him in the vocation.

He pointed out that the day of his ordination into priesthood happened to be one of the most significant points of his priesthood, because of the joy he felt in him, the knowledge that he has the power to perform Eucharistic consecration, anoint the sick and they receive healing, and could bring people to Christ through sacrament of baptism, penance, confirmation and ordination, as well as the joy of attending to the testimonies of people whose life he has touched through his vocation.

Commenting on his retirement, Archbishop Alaba Job described it as the end of an era in Nigeria, being the last to retire among his set consecrated bishop in the 70s, also noting that his 42years in office, though not easy, but has been very rewarding.

He however tasked the faithful to discover their part to play stressing that Christ has given everyone creature the mantle to discover his vocation and also pledging to remain pastor of souls even as Archbishop emeritus.
