Nigeria-Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, yesterday, has accused the Presidency of insensitivity in dealing with issues relating to the welfare and progress of the people of the state while faulting the imposition of a state of emergency.

 The governor made his feelings known while hosting two top officials of the United States Embassy, who visited him yesterday in Yola.

The two visitors were Maria Brower, the Deputy Chief of Mission US Embassy, Abuja and Michael Harvey of the United States Agency for International Development, USAID.

Nyako informed his guests that the unjust imposition of state of emergency on the state had inflicted untold social and economic hardships on the people and worsened the poverty situation in the state.

He said the situation had robbed the state of services of some foreign technical partners, including the Americans, who were working on the Kiri Dam Hydroelectric Project.

Nyako, who is one of the five governors that defected to the APC last Tuesday in Abuja.
