Nigeria— Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Ogun State Command said it had arrested two people who were suspected to be working for an unlicensed private guard company.

The suspects were arrested at a popular eatery in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

In a statement last weekend, the  Public Relations Officer  of the NSCDC in the state, Kareem Olanrewaju,  said the suspects were arrested because they  acted contrary to CAP 367 of Private Guard Act, subsection 1( A to C).

Since then, a seal order has been placed on the System Protection and Security Services and some others who were found operating illegally. While others have complied, System Protection failed to abide in spite of warnings by the corps.

The command will investigate thoroughly and deal with the culprits in accordance with law as ignorance is not an excuse except it is proved by court of competent jurisdiction.

All the parties involved will be questioned and dealt with according to the law.

The suspects arrested were named as Babalola Elizabeth (female, 19) and Biola James, 20.
