Some of the 45,000 Gambians who fled the country over violence fears before former president Yahya Jammeh agreed to step down have been returning.
Ceoafrica gathered that they heading back to their country where peace has crept back to, after the political storm.
They fled the African country of Gambia over fears of violence that may occur over Yahya Jammeh’s refusal to hand over power to Adama Barrow.
Their decisions likely emanated from failed interventions of African leaders, The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and Resignation of Yahya Jammeh’s cabinet members also urging him to leave power.
The Days before January 19 looked uncertain for Gambians and the electoral future looked bleak coupled with the fact that Adama Barrow was eventually sworn in at the Gambia’s embassy in Senegal as Gambia’s president.
