The Leadership of the Accord party in Oyo state has described the Governor Ajimobi’s led administration in the state as civil servants worst moments.

A onetime commissioner for education and now publicity secretary of the Accord party in Oyo state Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran made the declaration in a press release made available to CEOAFRICA news in Ibadan.

He stated that except the All Progressive Congress (APC) administrator in Oyo state stop
further plundering of the intellectual fabric of government administration in the state, the civil service sector would be destroyed.

Dr. Adeniran urged the APC in the state to stop destroying the pillars of intellectualism which had been the hallmark of governance in the country with the systemic decimation targeted at the civil servants in government employ.

The ex-commissioner expressed disappointment that the much cherished pride of the old Western Region government and the bastion of intellectual base in government circles has been reduced to nothingness due to lack of administrative knowledge/prowess on how to position the civil service structure to impact positively on peoples' lives since Senator Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi assumed office as governor of the state.

Reacting to the governor's promise to restore the lost glory of the pace-setter state at a book presentation titled "We served our Generation: Perspective and Reflections on Western Nigeria Civil Service" last Thursday at the University of Ibadan, Dr. Adeniran said the present administration had ruined the spirit of professionalism among the civil servants in the state.

Dr. Adeniran explained that there is no doubt that the state civil service had hitherto been one of the best in the country until the present administration came to scatter and dismantle the spirit of professionalism embedded in the civil service adding that it should be on record that no government in the state (including the Military government) has sacked permanent secretaries as much as the present administration noting that many capable and good hands have been sent on untimely retirement thus denying the service and the state of their wealth of experience.

He further pointed out that the governor's intention on assumption of office was to relieve the seasoned administrators considered to be sticklers to administrative rules of their duties and instill fear in the minds of workers in the state, adding that the balkanization of the civil service structures was the professional stance/advice on issues that concern their ministries were at variance to the interest of the governor and his wife.

The Accord publicity secretary stated that the civil servants both at the state and local government levels were equally sacked indiscriminately while some also got their appointment terminated without recourse to rules and paved way for their cronies as it happened in the case of the position of the General Manager of Ibadan Local Government Properties Limited.

He concluded that the present administration is destroying the good spirit of Oyo State Civil Service resulting in uneasy calm in government offices because everybody is afraid of the Emperor and added that it is not the kind of civil service he inherited.
