Owing to the continued detention of leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, his followers today staged a protest to the National Assembly, Abuja.

Ceoafrica gathered that the protesters were prevented from having access to the grounds of the National Assembly, and were largely restricted to the first security post of the National Assembly, which is close to the Federal Secretariat in Area 11.

They had placards with different inscriptions with them.

El-Zakzaky, who was ordered to be released by a competent court of jurisdiction, has been in detention with his wife since December 2015.
