Jigawa unveils E-Revenue Generation

Jigawa state government on Thursday launched the electronic revenue generation system with a view to block all forms of leakages in order to improve internally generated revenue index.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of the State Board of Internal Revenue, Ibrahim Ahmed Mohammed Sani, said the online payment of tax would afford the taxpayer not only to pay his tax with ease but made the exercise transparent.

He added that the state was working assiduously toward working hands in glove with taxpayers in order to live up to their tax obligations.

"This is one part of our automation processes, which in essence will help to block leakages. The online experience will give a tax payer a confidence in knowing they can take care of the tax obligation in secured and consistent manner.

"The state government has put all mechanism in place to ensure that taxpayers comply with tax obligations."

In his remark, the state governor, Mohammadu Badaru Abubakar, who was represented by the state secretary to the state government, Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini, said the introduction of automation system in the state's revenue drive was one of the milestone acheivement that would stand a taste of time for a very long period.

"I will like to encourage all financial institutions to join this modernization as at the end of the day, it is the taxpayers and the economy as a whole that will benefit from the efficient financial flows."
