Following President Trump’s Travel ban whose clampdown has started on Africans residing in the United States (US), Sudan’s Foreign Ministry yesterday summoned the US charge d’affaires in Khartoum to protest against the ban.

According to Ceoafrica, Sudan said the move was a negative signal following positive developments to improve relations between the two states, including easing economic sanctions on the African state and cooperating in the fight against "terrorism".

President Trump's executive order halted the entire US refugee programme and instituted a 90-day travel ban for nationals from Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Syria, Iran, Iraq and Yemen.

However in a tweet, President Trump said “Our country needs strong borders and extreme vetting, NOW. Look what is happening all over Europe and, indeed, the world - a horrible mess!”
