OYO STATE POLICE COMMAND EXPRESSES COMMITMENT TO REDUCING CRIME IN THE STATE

The Oyo State Command of the Nigeria police force has reiterated its commitment to reducing crime to the barest minimum in the state

This was revealed in a press release by the state command and made available to CEOAFRICA news after the force paraded a group of suspected criminals at its headquarters in Eleyele Ibadan.

According to the release, the myriad of arrest were enhanced by the spontaneous action of the police on information received about the crimes at different time of its occurrence.

It stated that the case of one of the robbery suspects nabbed in action was recorded on the 22nd of November, 2013 at about 10.55pm, when the command acting on the information received by DPO Oluyole Estate Division via a phone call from a resident of Oluyole Estate, Ibadan, deployed policemen attached to Panter34 instantly to the area where the robbery incident was going on.

The report stated that the robbery case involved one 20 years Sunday Ogbuche (male) who was arrested with a sharp knife which he used to rob one female victim of the same settlement who also admitted the suspect robbed her with two others who fled the scene on a motorcycle having sighted the Police.

The case of another man arrested with INEC Computer was said to have happened on 28th November, 2013, when one Olatide Akinkunmi, a resident of Isake in Ogbomosho Local Government Area of the state, was arrested in possession of a customized INEC laptop computer.

The suspect, who claimed to be the Managing Director of a local IT outlet in the area, was said to be arrested by a team of Police detectives who stormed his residence after a tip off from members of the public.

The customized Zinox Laptop, with model No: C4106, product No: C4106Q-CD, serial No: 8000609826 was recovered from the suspect who according to the report, could not give a satisfactory account of the laptop during the arrest.

Moreover, the Oyo State Police reported that on the same 28th November 2013, it recovered one Mitsubishi Saloon Car, with Reg. No. LSD 467 BB, belonging to one Olusola Campbell of Akinlapa Estate, Idi-Ishin, and has revealed that the Car was snatched from one Kehinde Campbell, just outside the gate of the family’s residence.
