Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has defined the turmoil in Ukraine an "internal affair" but said "it's really important to have stability and order there.

Medvedev made the remarks Wednesday to Ukraine's first Vice President, Yury Boyko, in Russia.

"We're watching what's happening in your country. It's an internal affair of Ukraine, though it's really important to have stability and order there," he said, adding that Ukraine was an important strategic partner to Russia.

However, an official Ukrainian delegation is said by Medvedev's office to be in Russia already for talks.
