Ahead of Somalia’s presidential election which has 23 candidates, among whom is the incumbent President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, curfew has been perceived in parts of Somalia's capital, Mogadishu.

Ceoafrica gathered that the security measures are focused on the area around the airport, where the vote will take place, amid concern about a possible attack by militant Islamist group, al-Shabab.

A no fly zone will also be imposed ahead of the vote, as the African country of Somalia has not had any effective central government since the fall of the Siad Barre regime in 1991.
