Following the implementation of United States of America's president policies, the office of South Africa's President, Jacob Zuma, has reacted angrily to a newspaper article that compared Zuma to President Donald Trump.

Ceoafrica gathered that The Mail and Guardian published an opinion piece with the headline: Trump, Zuma are worse than liars.

The president's office said the comparison was undefined and the article was "way outside the conventions of responsible journalism and freedom of expression".

Parliament in South Africa is due to consider proposed hate speech legislation which, among other things, makes it a crime to insult the president.
