The President of Malawi, Peter Mutharika, has finally signed into law an access to information bill which will allow Malawians to obtain information from the government and other public bodies.

Ceoafrica gathered that campaigners had been pushing for the law for more than a decade.

The announcement was made by the minister of information which has been welcomed by the Malawian journalists and media campaigners who said, it will increase transparency in the country.
