Reports reaching CEOAfrica reveal that the Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt has affirmed the emergence of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Court also nullified the May 21, 2016 National Convention of the PDP, which dissolved the Sheriif-led executive of the party and elected a National Caretaker Committee led by Senator Ahmed Makarfi.
