In view of fraudsters who are desperate of getting rich despite recession, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has advised desperate job seekers to be careful and desist from patronizing them via online advertisements.
According to Ceoafrica, Commandant General of the Corps, Abdullahi Gana, gave the advice in a statement titled; “Civil Defence Not Recruiting; General Public Beware of fraudsters”, signed by Emmanuel Okeh, the Corps’ Spokesperson, in Abuja.
Gana who acknowledged that fraudsters have hacked into their website advised job seekers to ignore online recruitment even as he pleaded with Nigerians to ignore messages with religious undertone that has gone viral.
The statement reads, “please ignore all messages with religious undertone going viral, it is an attempt by mischief makers to use religion to dent the image of the Corps”.
According to the statement, the NSCDC boss who condemned allegations that the Corps was recruiting candidates recommended by top government functionaries through the back door urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours.
While advising the general public and applicants to discard, disregard and ignore such advertisement, to avoid being swindled by mischief makers and unscrupulous elements whose business is to misinform the public and rob them of their belongings, he promised that the Corps will advertise when they get approval to recruit.
“The Corps is neither recruiting nor replacing as widely speculated on the internet and various social media platforms. Beware of 419 and fraudsters who have hacked into the NSCDC website to dupe innocent and desperate job seekers online”, the statement warned.
