Despite the court’s judgement which pronounced Ali Modu Sherrif as the National Chairman, the Kaduna State chapter of the PDP, yesterday declared support for the Sen. Ahmed Makarfi-led caretaker committee.

According to Ceoafrica, the state chapter of the party in a communiqué at the end of its meeting said it would not support Ali Modu Sheriff.

In the  communiqué, signed by the chairman drafting committee,  Dr John Ayuba, the party said it stood by the judgement of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt which endorsed the decision of May 21, 2016 national convention.

Another PDP faction in Sokoto also said its members have unanimously endorsed the decision of party stakeholders in Abuja to support and recognise Makarfi as authentic chairman of the party.

“We endorse the decisions taken by our leaders, including the agreement to appeal at Supreme Court”,  a statement by the state chairman of the party, Ibrahim Milgoma, after a meeting with state executive members of the party and local government party chairmen, held in Sokoto, said.
