The defunct new Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has sued the state Police Command for sealing off its secretariat in Ilorin.

The secretariat located at number 12 Nupe road was taken over penultimate Saturday according to the police to avert a clash between the former PDP members loyal to Senator Bukola Saraki and supporters of the main PDP when both groups insisted on holding their meeting at the venue.

Saraki and his supporters had defected to the All Prog-ressives Congress (APC) while those remaining in PDP asked the defectors to vacate the secretariat belonging to the PDP.

But the former PDP chairman, Hon. Ishola Balogun-Fulani insisted that the secretariat does not belong to the PDP, explaining that the rent is being paid by Saraki.
Following the sealing of the place by the police who vowed to occupy the place until a competent court determines the rightful owner of the secretariat, the former PDP filed a case at the state High Court to claim the secretariat. Former Secretary of the party, Prince Yemi Afolayan confirmed the court case to newsmen yesterday.

The police command had also been served the court papers as confirmed by its spokesman, Femi Fabode though no date for the hearing has been fixed.
