Over the release of the timetable for the 2019 general elections, Chief Alexander Molwus, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Plateau, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC).

According to Ceoafrica, the electoral body released the 2019 general election timetable on Thursday, with the presidential and national assembly elections slated for Feb. 16, while governorship and houses of assembly elections come up on March 2.

Molwus, in his reaction, told reporters on Friday in Pankshin, that such timely release of the elections dates was the first of its kind in the history of Nigeria.

According to him, “we are now seeing a new INEC with a `superlative foresight’ showing its love for democracy, some people have sensed some interior motives, but I see it more positively; it is a good development”.

Molwus, former Special Adviser (political affairs) to former Governor Jonah Jang, said further that the release of the time table would give ample time for political parties and politicians to prepare adding that “in the PDP, we are not afraid of anything; we are determined to free Nigerians from the hardship they have been subjected to, by this government.

“We are mapping out our strategies and getting very much ready to dislodge APC come 2019”, he added.

The PDP chieftain advised Nigerians to prepare their voter’s cards for the elections, and enjoined them to vote PDP into power “to guarantee a better tomorrow”.
