THE Interim Management Committee of the Makarfi Group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo State, has explained why it called an emergency meeting of all stakeholders of the party tribune reports.

It said the meeting was to afford the PDP members to restate their support for the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led national caretaker committee.

A statement by the chairman of the committee, Honourable Ajibola Muraina, maintained that the meeting was also to brief party leaders of the goings-on in the PDP, including the filing of an appeal and a motion for stay of execution of the Court of Appeal judgment that recognised Sheriff as the national chairman of the party.

In a communiqué at the end of the meeting, signed by Muraina and the publicity secretary of the Oyo PDP, Makarfi Group, Alhaji Akeem Oke, the stakeholders of the party from the three senatorial districts of the state passed a vote of confidence in the Makarfi-led caretaker committee and also supported measures taken by the committee in pursuit of justice.
