Kebbi LG Polls to Hold July 15- INEC

The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission has fixed July 15, 2017, to conduct elections into the 21 local government councils in the state.

The Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Aliyu Mera, made this announcement after a stakeholders meeting in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday with representatives of 28 political parties.

According to him, the early announcement is to enable political parties, stakeholders and the general public to prepare.

He said that the commission would notify the stakeholders on further arrangements for the election.

Mera solicited the support and cooperation of all stakeholders towards conducting a free, fair and credible council election.

Twenty-eight political parties were present at the meeting. They Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD), Alliance for Democracy (AD) All Progressives Congress (APC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), among others.
