The need for effective cooperation and collaboration between the Military and the Police force in crime fighting and prevention has been emphasized.

General Officer Commanding 2nd Division of the Nigeria Army Ibadan, Ahmed Tijani Jibrin gave the emphasis when he paid a curtsey visit to the Oyo state commissioner of Police, Mohammed Indabawa at the police headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan.

The GOC who noted that the relationship between the military and the police force is a historical one enjoined both parties to ensure they work together as it is the only way to effectively tackle crime and terrorism in the country.

He added that the relative peace being enjoyed currently in the state can be attributed to the cooperation between the military and the police force in the state adding that the relationship must be sustained through training, sports and other social activities.

In his remark, the Oyo state police commissioner CP. Mohammed Indabawa commended the GOC for ensuring and sustaining the relationship between both security agencies in the state.

He disclosed that he is always ready to work together with the military and other security agencies in the state to fight crime and ensure relative peace within and outside the state.

While appreciating the GOC for the visit, the commissioner stressed the willingness of his men to work closely with the military in the state as they are both working towards the same goals which is ensuring and sustaining peace in the society as well as protecting the lives and properties of the people.
