Micra Operators on Monday morning protested the introduction of new fee collection at Ajibode junction, leaving majority of the commuters who ply Mokola-Ojoo, Oje-Ojoo, UI-Ojoo, Beere-Ojoo among other road links in Ibadan metropolies stranded.

According to a commercial motocyclists who was an eye- witness, the trouble started around 8.30 am when leaders of the Oyo State branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) moved their members to the junction and introduced another fees’ collection point.

According to Dailypost report, some of the operators called for the abolition of the union (NURTW) in the state noting that it is the worst thing that happens daily.

The operators who mostly are in their middle age had reportedly descended on the NURTW officials before a team of combined security agents were moved to the area to forestall escalation.

The commercial drivers after the squabble instructed their members to down-tool and excuse their passengers after getting to the junction.
