NIGERIA (Abia) – An uncompleted building was demolished by the Abia State government at Umuobia Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government Area following allegations that it was being used as baby sales point.

While inspecting the demolition exercise, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security and Task Force Matters, Captain Awa Udonsi Agwu (rtd) said the demolition was carried out based on Police report which fingered the building in the allegation. Governor Theodore Orji directed that the demolition should be effected as deterrent to others.

According Udonsi, one Mr. Uche Uhuabunwa and his wife were alleged to be responsible for the illegal business, adding that 18 pregnant young girls were rescued by the police during their raid.
