The wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, has been made the Grand Matron of the Association of Primary School Head Teachers of Nigeria (AOPSHON), Oyo state chapter in recognition of her efforts in ensuring children in the state get educated in a conducive environment

In her speech during the investiture, Mrs  Ajimobi urged primary school teachers not to be discouraged by the present situation they find themselves but to continue to do their best in building the future generation

She told the teachers not to allow the present situation of things to discourage them but to be like Christ, who for the joy set before him endured the cross and despised the shame

"The joy in your case is to see the children you have nutured and trained become successful. I truly believe this is the greatest reward any teacher can receive.

"There is a saying that a teacher's reward is in heaven, this is true to an extent because only God can sufficiently compensate teachers. I also believe that there should be some compensation for teachers here on earth and in Oyo state, things are already looking brighter.

The first Lady reiterated her passion and commitment to education especially at the primary level, because it is the foundation on which all other tiers of education is built upon

"We all know that the foundation of anything is the most important part of it because if it is not strong, then the house itself cannot be strong. "It is as a result of this passion that I established 'Educate a Rural Child' (ERC),a project aimed at bridging the gap between the quality of education received by children living in rural areas and their counterparts in urban areas of the state

According to her, the state government is working tirelessly to ensure that the welfare of teachers is improved upon and also on improving the state of schools.
