As the home-Based Super Eagles prepare for next month’s African Nations Championships in South Africa, one of the players the team is actually hoping would help to booster the squad, Sunday Mba, may not be available for the tournament any longer.

It was revealed from Abuja, where the team is currently camping, that the mercurial midfielder cum attacker is on his way to France to finalise his move to Bastia.

Assistant Coach Daniel Amokachi said Mba could leave as early as Friday, as he has not been listed for action in a warm0up game with the Rivers selected side.

“We have resigned ourselves to fate and working hard to discover those who can fill Mba’s shoes, as he seems to have struck a deal with Bastia and may not be part of CHAN. We just need to wish him the best because it’s a career thing,” he said.

Meanwhile, Head Coach Stephen Keshi has dropped three more players from the camp. The Big Boss said the affected players have all it takes to play for the national team but there was not time enough to fit into the system and he would always monitor their progress for future engagements.

“Take heart because as I always say, many are called but few are chosen, we would soon be back knocking on your doors."

The affected players were Sunshine Stars' Kingsley Onome Eduwo, Bendel Insurance’s Bello John Ikeleji and Eric Kwame of Plateau United. More players are expected to exit the camp of the national team after the training game in Port Harcourt and Monday’s other practice match against Nigerian league champions, Kano Pillars.
