As public civil servants resume to their works today after a day public holiday declared by the federal Govt, it was a great surprise seeing the marketers returning to their buying and selling activities without hesitating of New Year festive merriment.

This was observed while the CEOAFRICA online news visits some places in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state such as Dugbe market, Ogunpa market and Mokola Roundabout. CEOAFRICA correspondent observed that there were  no traces of festive period in the town unlike how peoples celebrates it before  while all shops and business outfits are still suppose to be shut.

According to one of the business man at Lebanon Street, Dugbe, in his discussion with CEOAFRICA correspondent said “we are more or less civil servants, we depends on civil servants for our daily bread. It was when Nigeria was Nigeria that we celebrate festival, but now the rates of poverty in our country is increasing every day.

Meanwhile, shops and companies at Mokola Roundabout have opened for usual business activities.
