All is set for a Non-governmental organization (NGO) 5th annual celebration of purity to encourage sexual abstinence among teenagers and young adult which is scheduled to hold on Saturday 5th of August 2017at Chevron Recreation Centre Gbagada.

In a statement made available to CEOAfrica by the Project Manager of the event, Mrs Bukola Funmi Ajala, the Virginspride Network has an objective to teach positive character building and their importance to youths.

The NGO implores parents especially mothers to go back to the basis of high moral values and life of abstinence before marriage because the level of moral decadence among teens and young adults in this 21st century is so disheartening.

In an interview with the Founder of the NGO, Nkechi Cecelia Odebiyi said “Every parent you meet talks about the good old days when children were brought up with sound moral and ethical sanctity. Why is it that parents who are privileged to have received such quality upbringing in times past are the ones bringing up useless, irresponsible and morally decadent children with little or no regards to societal norms, culture and values?”

“The truth is that parents have abdicated their primary responsibility of building their homes and families in pursuit of wealth, riches, material things, career, pleasure and fun, and has developed all manners of excuses to justify their negligence of this noble duty, all to the detriment of the children who are now growing into deviant social misfit,” Nkechi said.

In conclusion, the founder therefore calls on government, well-meaning Nigerians, corporate bodies, and organizations to support and make possible the dreams and aspiration of the Organization come to reality.
