An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court in Osun on Thursday has given its verdicts that a  20-year-old Yusuf Mohammed should be jailed for six months for stealing aluminum window frames.
The magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Olowolagba, ordered that the convict should serve his jail term at the Ilesa Prison without an option of fine.
Olowolagbe convicted Mohammed after he pleaded guilty to the offence.
The magistrate refused to heed the plea of the convict who begged for mercy, saying the sentence would serve as a deterrent to others.
Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Mireti Wilson, told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 20 at 3:45p.m., at Service area in Osogbo.
Wilson alleged that some security operatives found the aluminum window frames in the possession of the accused and he could not give any satisfactory explanation about how he got them.
The prosecutor told the court that the accused later confessed to have stolen them.
He said the offence contravened Sections 383(1) and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Osun, 2003.
