Chairman Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime, Dr Abdulfatai Buhari has attributed the emphasis on ethnic sentiment as one of the major threat to unity and development of Nigeria Senator Buhari, representing Oyo North at the upper chamber of the National Assembly

While speaking with journalists in Ibadan at the weekend Bihari said the development and advancement of Nigeria is a collective responsibility which must be done diligently and faithfully

” We cannot get anywhere if we do not see ourselves as one, come together, reason together and work as a united entity, we are supposed to  have gone  far as a nation  than where we are now and we can only get to where we should be if all Nigerians  stop  selfish agenda and work for the collective benefits of the country “.

Senator Abdulfatai advocate for proper reorientation of Nigerians about the need to be patriotic and consider themselves as Nigerians first irrespective of tribe, region or political affiliation “ We should think about Nigeria first and put aside other things” he said.

In reaction to the pro and anti-president Muhamadu Buhari’s resignation protest in Abuja, the Senator said   the protest for and against is needless, “ There is no basis for the protest, those calling for his resignation should have allow the constitution of the Federal republic of Nigeria to guide their action, the  vice president is the acting president and he is  effectively playing his role as stated in the constitution and whatever he do or say in that capacity is final because he is in charge”

He however cautioned against politicizing president Buhari’s health, “Anybody took ill anytime, we shouldn’t , its abnormal to be playing politics with  our president’s health status, he meant well for this nation and he is already achieving his mission,  he promised war against corruption and he is winning , corruption has reduced drastically, view it from any angle”.

When asked about his level of involvement on the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso, the lawmaker said “  I am passionate about the plight of about 34,000 students and over 3,000 workers of the institution and that is why myself , supported by 43 other lawmakers move that the Federal government rescue the situation , we are working on something and the owners state too are also concluding plans to ensure the students of the institution are back on campus soon.” He concluded.
