CDDDP International Conference on ‘Access to Quality Medicines’ Begins

All is set for the commencement of the International Conference organised by the Centre for Drug Discovery, Development and Production (CDDDP), Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan which is funded by the MacArthur Foundation.

The programme which is currently holding at the Main Hall Conference Centre, University of Ibadan is focused on the theme: Improving Access to Quality Medicines through Appropriate Legislations and Policies.

Invited dignitaries, distinguished personalities, participants and guests have begun to arrive for the conference. Among those present at the event are; the Vive Chancellor of University of Ibadan, Prof Abel Idowu Olayinka, ably represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research, Prof Olanike Adeyemo; the Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole, represented by the Director of Food and Drugs in the Federal Ministry of Health, Mrs Chukuma Gloria Modupe.

Other dignitaries present include; the Acting Director General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Mrs Yetunde Oni; the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan, Prof Oluwatoyin Odebunmi; the Senior Programme Officer of ANRH, Paul Tanui; the Former Acting Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Prof Anthony Elujoba; the Chief Medical Director of University College Hospital, Prof Temitope Alonge, Hon Sharafadeen Alli and the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter, Pharmacist Ajibade.

Some other personalities present at the programme include; the Chief Party Promoting the Quality of Medicines (PQM) Programme, Dr Chimezie Anyahora; the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Oyo State branch, Pharmacist Abiodun Ajibade and the US Pharmacopeial Convention.
