TANZANIA- The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism has suspended 21 employees of the Wildlife Department suspected of colluding with poachers to kill elephants, Tanzania's Daily News reported Thursday (January 9th).

"The ministry will not hesitate in dealing with employees who use their position to sabotage the country's natural resources or anybody partnering with poachers to kill wild animals. Tougher measures are going to be taken against them without any delay," Deputy Natural Resources and Tourism Minister Lazaro Nyalandu said.

The employees will be charged in court shortly, he said.

On Tuesday, Augustino Lori, a Wildlife Department employee at the Singinda region, was also arrested for colluding with poachers
