Oyo Governor's wife reiterate commitment to qualitative education in rural areas

The Wife of the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Mrs Florence Ajimobi has reiterated her commitment to ensuring that pupils in schools in rural areas across the state have access to quality education and learn in conducive areas like their counterparts in urban areas.

 

Mrs Ajimobi restated her passion to bridging the academic gap between students in urban and rural areas on Sunday, in a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media to the First Lady, Yejide Gbenga-Ogundare

 

The First Lady stated that her initiative, the Educate A Rural Child (ERC), will this year give more children in rural areas all the needed incentive and a veritable platform to guarantee a solid academic foundation.   

 

Mrs Ajimobi stated that as part of ERC's commitment to upliftment of primary and secondary education in the state, it will continue to build libraries, provide basic amenities such as water in schools, build blocks of classrooms and give scholarships.

 

She stated that the project will remain committed to provision of sound and quality education in every rural area within the state by bridging the gap between the quality of education delivered in the rural areas and their counterpart in the urban areas.

 

Mrs Ajimobi's desires an equal standard of education for both public and private schools in Oyo state and her basic aim is to put the rural child on a good academic footing.

 

"Our vision is to reach out to children in various villages in all the local government of the state by encouraging strong learning culture through the provision of the right counsel and adequate educational infrastructure support they require to become useful to themselves, the state and the country in general"

 

Mrs Ajimobi pledged that the ERC intervention will continue to aspire to give succor to children in rural areas academically and build a lasting legacy for them.
