The Anambra State Commander, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Mr. Sule Momodu, has canvassed for a law making the sales of alcohol illegal in motor parks across the country.

Momodu who made the call in a radio audience participation programme "NDLEA AND YOU", argued that the law would help curb the consumption of alcoholic drinks by commercial bus drivers, which he said, was one of the major causes of road mishaps.

He disclosed that the agency was partnering the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) towards taking enlightenment campaigns to motor parks in the state.

Restating the agency's commitment to championing the cause of reducing drug trafficking and abuse to the barest minimum, Momodu called on community leaders to always support the agency in its drive to make the society drug-free.

The State NDLEA boss also revealed that the ultra-modern Rehabilitation Centre initiated by the state government would soon take off, which when fully operational would become the first in the country.
