Major General Yusuf appointed GOC 6 Division Port Harcourt

Maj.-Gen. Musa Yusuf has on Tuesday 23rd 2018 taken over as new General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt.

The Division’s Spokesman Col. Aminu Iliya, in a statement on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, said that Yusuf would be in charge of the Army Formations and Units in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers states.

The new GOC took over from Maj.-Gen. Enobong Udoh who was redeployed as GOC, 81 Division Lagos.

Major General Yusuf a seasoned Infantry Officer, was until this appointment, the Commander of the elite Guards Brigade charged with the protection of the President, and a member of the 37 Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from NDA, Masters in Transport Management from LAUTECH, Masters of Science in Strategic Studies from University of Ibadan, a Diploma in Peace Keeping and Shipping Logistics and a Diploma in Higher Level Defence Management from Indore University, India.

General Yusuf has attended all his mandatory military Courses among which include Young Officers’ Course Infantry, Airborne Course, Company Commanders’ Course (Infantry), Junior and Senior Courses in Armed Forces Command Staff College in Jaji and India respectively as well as National Defence College among others.

He has served in several Nigerian Army Units and Formations where he held appointments commensurate to his rank. He has both local and foreign operational experiences including those under the auspices of ECOMOG and the United Nations.
