The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), Oyo State chapter, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha has dismissed the anti-corruption fight of the present administration describing it as a tool designed to hunt the opposition party.

The chairman who made this known in Ibadan while responding to questions from our reporter queried the way the APC led federal government anti-graft war has been directed at members in the opposition party while shielding members of the ruling party from the same alleged crime.

There is nothing like anti-corruption war as I could see it presently. They are not fighting corruption. As I'm talking to you there is a lot of corruption going on in the government at the federal level, state level here and there. If it's the APC that is the offender, you will not hear anything. They just designed the anti-corruption crusade as something to hunt the oposition party.

Obasanjo Open Letter to Buhari

On the open letter written by former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo advising President Muhammadu Buhari not to recontest in 2019, Alhaji Mustapha described it as welcome development because according to him, the yearnings of so many Nigerians is for the President not to return to power in 2019. He reminded Nigerians that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo had at a time said similar thing and now that he is repeating it, Nigerians should brace up for a surprise.

The PDP chairman also went further to dismiss the issue of coalition raised by the former President describing it as a mere talk and something that is not realistic because only two major political parties have what it takes to win elections in the country.

Nation Security

The Oyo State PDP boss while responding to question on the state of the nation's security stated that there is no security in Nigeria; as the only security we have on ground is positioned to protect APC leaders and their members at the detriment of leaders and members of other political parties.  Alhaji Mustapha went further to accuse the Federal government of having an ulterior motive with the way the security of the nation is being handled.

“There is no security in Nigeria today, the security we have on ground now in Nigeria is to secure the APC leaders at the detriment of the mass and other political parties leaders. So, to me they have their game plan. You know all the security heads; almost all the security heads have been changed. Most of them are Fulani’s now.

They have their games and we have ours. What I can say simply is that they will meet us in the front. We are not lagging behind at all; when the time comes, you will see the revelations because the power belongs to the people. He concluded.
