Snowboarding: American snowboarding phenom Chloe Kim lived up to the hype, capturing gold in the women';s halfpipe. Kim, 17, scored a 93.75 on her first run, and then put down a score of 98.25 on her third run despite already having the contest sewn up. The victory was a coronation of sorts for Kim, who actually qualified for Sochi in 2014 but was too young to go. Needless to say:
Kim earned her ice cream.
But Kim wasn';t the only American to leave the snowboard halfpipe event with a medal.
Despite a dislocated should, an injury that prevented her from competing in qualifying at the Sochi Games, Arielle Gold battled through to claim bronze.
