NIGERIA (Kwara)-A 200-Level Computer Science student at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, John Usman, has won the grand prize at a UNESCO contest.
According to a statement released by the Deputy Director in the University, Mr. Kunle Akogun, the contest tagged “Pathways to a Culture of Peace,” took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
He said that the contest was conducted on Dec. 3, 2013 and Usman’s winning entry was a graphic design titled “The Nigeria of my Dream’’.
“The contest, jointly organised by UNESCO, Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education and the King Abdulaziz National Centre for Dialogue (KANCD), brought together youths from over 30 countries,’’ he said.
Akogun noted that the event was a gathering of positive-minded youth leaders from around the globe, who were impacting on their societies.
